Thrifty Father’s Day Promotion
WHO CAN ENTER?
Entrants must be aged 18+
Director, Officer, management and employees (and their immediate families) of (1) Supercars; (2) Thrifty; (3) the Related Bodies Corporate (as defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) of Thrifty and their registered travel companions, associated agencies, franchises, companies or participating premises are ineligible to enter.
HOW TO ENTER
To enter the competition, you must submit an online entry by providing your first name, last name and email address where required on the competition landing page at [https://www.thrifty.com.au/blue-chip/fathers-day-competition] during the competition period.
The competition period commences at 12:01AM AEDT on 29 August 2022 and ends at 11:59PM AEDT on 4 September 2022
No late entries will be accepted.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES
Entrants can register their details to receive one (1) entry into the competition.
SELECTION OF WINNER
One (1) winner will be chosen by a random draw which will take place at 11.00am AEDT on 5 September 2022 at 343 Ferrars Street, South Melbourne, 3205.
The winner will be notified by email and telephone on the day of the draw.
The results of the draw will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to the results of the draw. This is a game of chance.
SECOND CHANCE DRAW
If the winners do not respond to Thrifty within 14 days of being notified that they have won the competition, that winner is not readily identified, and reasonable efforts have been made by Thrifty to identify the winner(s) were unsuccessful, they will automatically forfeit their prize and Thrifty reserves the right to select another winner or winners through a second chance draw.
If necessary, a second chance draw will be held on 16 September 2022 at the same time and place as the first draw in order to nominate an alternative winner(s) for any unclaimed prizes. The second chance draw winner(s) will be notified by email and telephone on the day of the draw.
The results of any second chance draw will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to the results of the draw.
PROMOTION AND MARKETING
By entering the competition, the winners agree to participate in such promotional activity and material as Thrifty may require without remuneration.
The winners also give consent to the use and publication of their name and any other details provided by the winners in any marketing material without any further reference or payment to the winners. Thrifty may want winners to participate in promotional activity after the Competition has ended. In consideration for the prize awarded to the winners, the winners permit their image and/or voice, as recorded, photographed or filmed during the participation in the prize to appear in any media whatsoever throughout the world for an unlimited period and the winners will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
PRIZE
There will be five (5) major prize winners for this competition.
The major prize is a money can’t buy experience at the Repco Bathurst 1000, including:
Two (2) 2 – 4 Day General Admission Tickets (valued at $138 ex GST each)
Grid Walk for two (2) people (valued at $250 ex GST each)
Safety/Course Car ride for two (2) people (valued at $500 ex GST each)
Track Tour for two (2) people (valued at $150 ex GST each)
There will be ten (10) minor prize winners for this competition.
The minor prize winners will receive the following for the Repco Bathurst 1000:
The total prize pool is valued at $11,760 ex GST
The prize will not be transferable to another person.
No part of a prize is exchangeable or redeemable for cash or any other prize.
If the prize(s) is not available for any reason, Thrifty reserves the right to substitute the prize(s) with another item of equal or greater value if the winner(s) agrees in writing and subject to any written directions from any applicable regulatory authority. If the winner(s) do not agree despite reasonable attempts by Thrifty to reach an agreement and the prize is not available due to circumstances beyond Thrifty's control, Thrifty may substitute the prize with another item or items determined by Thrifty to be of equal or higher value.
STANDARD TERMS
Please read these competition rules carefully. If you enter one of our competitions, we will assume that you have read these rules and that you agree to them.
Your entry must be received during the Competition Period and will be deemed to be received only when received by Thrifty. You will receive a return message confirming your entry. Thrifty is not liable for any problems with communications networks. You are responsible for your own costs associated with entry.
If you enter using automatically generated entries or multiple phone numbers/email addresses/addresses/aliases, you may be disqualified.
Any failure by you to comply with the terms and conditions imposed by the competition may result in the prize being cancelled or withdrawn without liability for Thrifty.
You must, if required by Thrifty, sign disclaimer and release forms provided by Thrifty in favour of Thrifty and other parties before taking a prize. If you do not sign, your entry will be deemed invalid, and you will lose any entitlement to a prize.
If you or your entry are deemed by Thrifty to breach these terms and conditions including if the prize is on set dates and you are unable to take the prize on the relevant dates, your entry (or at the Thrifty discretion, all of your entries) may be discarded. Thrifty may, at any time, require you to produce documentation to establish to Thrifty satisfaction the validity of your entries (including documentation establishing your identity, age, place of residence and place of employment). Failure by Thrifty to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not waive those rights.
You must not:
tamper with the entry process;
engage in any conduct that may jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition;
act in a disruptive, annoying, threatening, abusive or harassing manner;
do anything that may diminish the good name or reputation of the Thrifty or any of its related entities, Thrifty or of the agencies or companies associated with this competition;
breach any law; or
behave in a way that is otherwise inappropriate.
Where a companion can take the prize with you, you are responsible for your companion and Thrifty may disqualify all entries from, and prohibit further participation in this competition by, you or your companion if they breach these conditions, whether or not legally bound by them.
If you, in the opinion of Thrifty (and/or a medical professional, as relevant to the circumstances), are intoxicated, under the influence of alcohol or any other drug, behave aggressively or offensively, or behave in a manner which may diminish the good name or reputation of Thrifty or any of its related entities, or the agencies or companies associated with this competition, is contrary to law or is otherwise inappropriate, Thrifty may cancel the prize or restrict you (and your companion) from participating in any elements of the prize, at its discretion.
Thrifty is not liable for entries, prize claims or correspondence that are misplaced, misdirected, delayed, lost, incomplete, illegible or incorrectly submitted.
If any dispute arises between you and Thrifty concerning the conduct of this competition or claiming a prize, Thrifty will take reasonable steps to consider your point of view, taking into account any facts or evidence you put forward, and to respond to it fairly within a reasonable time. In all other respects, Thrifty decision in connection with all aspects of this competition is final.
If the competition is not capable of running as planned including by reason of technical failure (software or hardware), communication issues, unauthorised intervention, tampering, fraud, government directives, pandemic, public health orders and the like, or any cause beyond the Thrifty control, Thrifty may change, cancel or suspend the competition or invalidate any affected entries/entrants, subject to any necessary approval by the state/territory gaming authorities.
Thrifty do not accept responsibility for any entries that are delayed or which are not received for any reason during the Competition Period.

Thrifty reserves the right to amend the competition and its terms and conditions at any time and for any reason subject to regulatory approval (if required) and will notify participants of any such amendments as soon as reasonably practicable on the competition landing page at [https://www.thrifty.com.au/blue-chip/fathers-day-competition].It is the participant's responsibility to regularly check the competition landing page for any amendments. Any amendments will be applied and interpreted at the sole discretion of Thrifty.
Thrifty does not accept responsibility for any entries that are delayed or which are not received for any reason and assumes no responsibility for any inaccurate information or for any loss, damage or injury in connection with the conduct of the competition whether as a result of:
technical or telecommunications problems, including security breaches, technical website malfunctions or glitches; or
acts or omissions (including negligent acts of omissions) of Thrifty's servants or agents involved in the conduct of this competition.
Thrifty may collect participants (“you, your”)'s personal information in order to conduct and manage the competition, communicate with you or storing data and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to subsidiary and related companies, third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, and any company with whom they are running the competition. This may include disclosures to organisations outside Australia, in countries such as China, Singapore, the United States and New Zealand. All entries become the property of Thrifty. Thrifty collect personal information about you to enable you to participate in this Competition, but no further use of this information will be made without prior consent. Thrifty is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and by entering the competition, the Entrant is taken to consent to the Thrifty ’ privacy policy which contains information, among other things, about how the participants may access personal information that is held by Thrifty about them and seek correction of such information. By participating in this competition, entrants thereby release and hold harmless Facebook and Instagram from any and all liability associated with this competition, to the extent permitted by law (in which case that liability is limited to the maximum extent allowable by law).
Thrifty and entrants acknowledge that this competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Instagram.
Entrants acknowledge that they are providing information to Thrifty and not to Facebook or Instagram.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions restricts, excludes or modifies any consumer rights under any statute including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act 2001 (Cth) in Australia, or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia.
Save for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Thrifty (including its respective officers, employees, contractors and agents) and the agencies, franchisees and companies associated with this competition shall not be liable for any loss whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage (property or other) or personal injury (including emotional distress) suffered, illness or death suffered in connection with this competition or any prize.
Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Thrifty (including its respective officers, employees, contractors and agents) will not be liable to an Entrant for, and the Entrant waives and releases Thrifty in respect of all liability (including but not limited to all expenses, costs, damages, claims, losses) arising in any way out of or in connection with:
any act or omission of an Entrant;
any breach of these Terms & Conditions by the Entrant;
any personal injury or death or property loss or damage;
claiming the Prize;
use of the Prize in any way;
any theft of any Prize or unauthorised access or third party interference in the Promotion;
any entry or Prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged, delayed, corrupted or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by Thrifty ) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of Thrifty ;
any tax liability incurred by a winning Entrant; or
except to the extent such liability was caused or contributed to by Thrifty ’ negligent act or negligent omission.
Without limiting the previous paragraphs, Thrifty and the agencies and companies associated with this competition are not liable for any loss of, damage to or delay in delivery of prize/s, or for any damage that occurs to displayed prize/s (where relevant). Unless otherwise specified, prize/s will only be delivered to addresses in Australia.
Thrifty are not liable for any tax implications arising from prize winnings, including fringe benefits tax. Independent financial advice should be sought.
The laws of Australia apply to this competition. Competition participants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the laws of Australia.
Force Majeure: No Party will be liable for any delay or failure to perform their respective obligations under this Competition if such delay or failure is caused or contributed to by a Force Majeure Event. Force Majeure means any event or circumstances which is beyond a Party’s reasonable control including but not limited to, acts of God including fire, hurricane, typhoon, earthquake, landslide, tsunami, mudslide or other catastrophic natural disaster, civil riot, civil rebellion, revolution, terrorism, insurrection, militarily usurped power, act of sabotage, act of public enemy, war (whether declared or not) or other like hostilities, ionising radiation, contamination by radioactivity, nuclear, chemical or biological contamination, any widespread illness, quarantine or government sanctioned ordinance or shutdown, pandemic (including COVID-19 and any variations or mutations to this disease or illness) or epidemic.
Currency: Unless the contrary intention appears, a reference in these terms or in any advertisement relating to the Competition, to Australian dollars, dollars, AUD$ or $ is a reference to the lawful currency in Australia.
Amendments: These Terms and Conditions may be amended or replaced from time to time if required by any regulatory authority.
